Com conquerir l'espai

'Com conquerir l'espai' és el meu primer llibre publicat, una novel·la d'autoficció que recull la recerca sobre l'exploració espacial que he realitzat al llarg dels últims dos anys: utilitzant-la com a metàfora per reflexionar sobre el meu procés d'adaptació a un nou país (Bèlgica).

Aquest projecte editorial va guanyar el Premi Art Jove 2020 i va ser publicat pel Centre d'Art La Panera i Sala d'Art Jove el març de 2021, amb l'acompanyament de l'artista i investigadora Alicia Kopf. Disseny per Offset Studio.

SINOPSI:
'Com conquerir l'espai' va néixer a les fosques, en un bany nocturn sota un cel d'estiu. Va néixer, també, gràcies a un article sobre l'exploració espacial, amagat com un tresor entre les pàgines d'una llibreta vermella. Va néixer arran de començar un màster d'art en un país nou. D'aprendre a anar amb bicicleta, de comprar-me un abric llampant i d'enfrontar-me a viure lluny de casa. D'investigar sobre la Lluna, els astronautes i les converses que tenien allà dalt, mentre no s'adormien. De passar fred a les nits i dels objectes que enterrem a les butxaques (o oblidem en altres mons).

D'intuir que dues històries distants potser no ho són tant: que dialoguen, s'emmirallen i s'empaiten. D'escoltar-ne els ritmes. D'estudiar-ne els passos. I, sobretot, del desig de fer-les dansar.

'Com conquerir l’espai' (‘How to conquer space’) is my first published book: an autofiction coming-of-age novel that encompasses my artistic research of the last two years on outer space exploration: using it as an ongoing metaphor to address my own experience of moving and adapting to a new country (Belgium).

The book won the prestigious Art Jove 2020 Award and it was published as an artist book by the Centre d’Art La Panera, under the mentorship of the artist Alicia Kopf. It was designed by Offset Studio.

SYNOPSIS:
‘How to conquer space’ was born in the darkness, in a night swim under a summer sky. It was born, as well, thanks to an article about outer space exploration, hidden as a treasure between the pages of a red notebook. It was born as a result of starting a master of Fine Arts in a new country. Of learning how to ride a bicycle, of buying a flashy coat, and of daring to live far from my family. Of researching about the Moon, the astronauts, and the conversations they had there, when they couldn’t fall asleep. Of being cold at night and of the objects that we bury in our pockets (or forget in other worlds).

Of sensing that two distant stories might not stand so far: that they dialogue, reflect, and chase each other. Of listening to their rhythms, of studying their steps, and, above all, of the desire to make them dance.
